Queensland Welcomes German Holidaymakers

Queensland’s Tourism Industry is well and truly open for business and despite travel warnings, is calling on German tourists to head down under and enjoy an Australian summer holiday in the Sunshine State, the State Opposition said today.
Leader of the Liberal National Party John-Paul Langbroek (pronounced Lang-brook) said the recent floods did not affect the main holiday destinations in Queensland and welcomed visits from our ‘mates’ in Germany.
“I encourage all Germans considering an overseas holiday to book a trip to Australia and look at Queensland destinations such as Cairns, the Whitsundays, the Daintree or the Gold or Sunshine coasts as well as our unique islands.” Mr. Langbroek said.
“There are more than 4,500 tourism operators in Queensland many of them have not been affected by the State’s recent floods.”
“Of the twenty domestic airports that operate within Queensland and run flights daily, only one Regional Airport is currently closed, and that is in Rockhampton, south of Cairns.” Mr. Langbroek said.
“Whatever kind of holiday Germans are looking to enjoy, every type can be found here in Queensland.”
“Whether it is an outback wild life adventure including horse riding and bush tucker, a beach holiday spent surfing, snorkelling the Barrier Reef or chilling out reading in a hammock, or a tropical rainforest retreat spent in a high top tree hut.”
