Minister for Corporate and Information Services Lauren Moss has welcomed the ACCC’s draft decision to maintain current mobile roaming arrangements.

“Gunner Government believes that Territorians in the bush deserve better telecommunications that’s why we made a submission to the ACCC calling for this outcome.” Ms. Moss said.

“We know good connections in the bush create jobs and economic growth and we will continue to invest in the bush for the better of Territorians.”

“ACCC draft decision maintains a positive environment for more investment in infrastructure for mobile coverage in the bush.” Ms. Moss said.

“Territory Government is currently co-investing $30 Million over three years with Telstra to deliver better mobile coverage in the bush and we will make another submission to the ACCC supporting this draft decision.”

“We will also keep lobbying Canberra and the NBN to use the fibre that’s already in the ground to 34 remote Territory communities instead of pushing them onto weaker satellite service, so that we can continue to grow more mobile coverage like this for Territorians in the bush.” Ms. Moss said.
