ACT Opposition Leader Zed Seselja
Zed Congratulates Libs On NT Win

ACT Opposition Leader Zed Seselja today congratulated the Country Liberal Party on their strong win in the Northern Territory election.
Mr. Seselja said housing affordability and cost of living were major deciding factors in this election, as will be the case in the upcoming ACT election.
“I congratulate Terry Mills and his Party on their impressive win.” Mr. Seselja said.
“It’s clear that Northern Territory residents have judged their Labor Government’s cost of living and housing affordability record harshly after 11 years in power.”
“These are the same issues this ACT election will be fought on, because after 11 years of a Labor/Greens Government, Canberrans are doing it tough.” Mr. Seselja said.
“This ACT Labor Government has lost sight of its responsibility to provide better basic services and lower the cost of living.”
“The Canberra Liberals are committed to getting back to the basics of good local government and have already announced policies to address this with many more to come. These include removing quarterly car rego payment penalties, cheaper junior sports, infrastructure reform to improve housing affordability, and garden waste bins for homeowners.”
“We look forward to the opportunity to change government in October and give Canberrans the local services they deserve.” Mr. Seselja said.
Up To 4 rural and remote Northern Territory seats were lost by labor in the election on Saturday 25 August 2012.
