About 9.35 pm on Saturday 24 July 2010, a 14 year old male victim from Beecroft got off a train with two friends at Beecroft Railway Station. The victim and his friends started walking through the pedestrian tunnel onto Wongala Road before being confronted by a group of four males aged between 14-17 years. The victim and his friends started walking in the opposite direction in an attempt to get away from the males.

One of the males ran up to the victim whilst the other three males circled him. One of the males then demanded the victim hand over his mobile phone before punching him in the face. As the victim fell to the ground the group of males has started to punch and kick him before he handed over his mobile phone. Another male from the group has then demanded the victim hand over his shoes. The victim initially refused to hand them over but they were removed from his feet before the group of males punched and kicked him several more times before walking away. The victim suffered bruising and general soreness as a result of the assault.

The incident was reported to Police who attended the location and arrested two of the males who were found lying on the nature strip of Wandeen Street, Beecroft trying to hide from Police. A search of one of the males located the victim’s mobile phone in the pocket of his pants. Both males were taken to Hornsby Police Station and charged.

About 12.05 am on Sunday 25 July 2010, the two other males allegedly involved in the robbery were sighted by railway security staff getting off a train at Beecroft.
