Single Vehicle Fatal Crash – Yatte Yattah

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a single vehicle, fatal crash on the State’s south coast last night.

About 7.35pm, a man was driving a white Holden 4WD north on the Princes Highway at Yatte Yattah, near Lake Conjola when the car left the roadway and crashed into a traffic sign, before crashing into two trees.

As a result of the crash, the driver, an 81-year-old Cunjurong Point man, died at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no one else was injured during the crash.

Police and emergency services attended the crash a short time later and established a crime scene.

Following the crash, the Princes Highway was closed northbound for a number of hours while investigations took place. It has since been re-opened.

Investigations into the crash are continuing and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
