Woman To Face Court Following Stealing From Wheelchair-Bound Woman – Mount Druitt

Police from Mount Druitt Local Area Command arrested a charged a woman following an alleged stealing from a wheelchair-bound woman last week.

About 1.20pm, Friday 20 December, a 40-year-old Mount Druitt woman suffering from a medical condition requiring her to use a wheelchair, was approached by a woman within a shopping centre situated on the corner of North Parade and Carlisle Avenue, Mount Druitt.

Police will allege the woman pushed the 40-year-old without her permission through the shopping centre while the woman’s carer was pre-occupied.

While pushing the woman through the shopping centre she allegedly stole property from the woman including about $500 cash.

Following the incident, Police from Mount Druitt Local Area Command undertook a number of inquiries.

About 3.00pm yesterday, security from the shopping centre saw the 34-year-old within the centre and notified police.

Detectives from Mount Druitt local area command immediately attended the shopping centre where the woman was placed under arrest and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station.

The Bidwell woman was charged with steal from person and fraudulent appropriation and was granted conditional bail to attend Mount Druitt Local Court on 8 December.
