83 People Arrested During Drug Dog Operation At ‘Field Day’ Music Festival – The Domain
Police have arrested 83 people for various drug-related offences during the ‘Fuzzy Field Day’ music festival at The Domain in Sydney.
Officers from Redfern Region Enforcement Squad conducted an operation targeting the Possession and Supply of Prohibited drugs at the music festival involving:
- Plain Clothes Police,
- Uniformed Officers,
- Drug Detection Dogs.
As a result Police allegedly seized various drugs including:
- MDMA (ecstasy),
A 21-year-old man, believed to have links with an outlaw motorcycle gang, was allegedly found in possession of more than 17 grams of MDMA. He was charged with supplying a Prohibited drug.
Two men, aged 23 and 25 years, were also charged after allegedly being in possession of 33 grams and 25 grams of MDMA respectively.
As a result of the Police operation 83 people were arrested and charged with various drug-related offences. Eleven of those charges related to the Supply of Prohibited Drugs, mainly MDMA.
Acting Central Metropolitan Region Commander, Assistant Commissioner Stuart Smith, said the results represent great Police work.
“Today’s arrests are a significant demonstration that the strategies Police put in place are very successful and we have prevented a large number of people from dealing drugs at the event.”
“These results are all part and parcel of the continued crackdown by Police in Sydney.” Assistant Commissioner Smith said.
