Man Under Police Guard After The Deaths Of A Man And A Young Girl – Wetherill Park
Detectives attached to Fairfield Local Area Command and State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad is waiting to formally interview a 45-year-old man in hospital following the murder of two people:
- A 77-year old man
- A 12-year-old girl
At Wetherill Park over the weekend.
Late yesterday evening (Sunday 20 December) Police spoke briefly to a man who is currently under Police guard at Concord Hospital.
Doctors informed Police today (Monday 21 December) that the man has suffered burns to 35% of his body and has been taken into surgery. Therefore, Police are unable to formally interview the man until medical staff grants permission hence, no formal charges have been laid.
Police have been advised that this may not be for several days.
Police are working closely with the families and are trying to unravel the puzzle over the weekend’s tragedy.
The elderly female is conscious and helping Police as much she can under the circumstances.
