A 45-year-old man faced a bedside court hearing today charged in relation to the deaths of two people and alleged serious injury to a third in Sydney’s south west earlier this month.

On 18 December, Fairfield Police were called to a house on Langland Street at Wetherill Park where they found the body of a 12-year-old girl and a seriously injured 77-year-old woman.

Police found the body of a 77-year-old man in the car park of a Wetherill Park shopping centre the next day.

A 45-year-old man was arrested by Fairfield Police on 20 December after suffering serious injuries in a car outside the local hospital.

Since then Strike Force Ravensfield, led by detectives from Fairfield Local Area Command with assistance from South West Metropolitan Region and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, continued to investigate, working closely with medical staff.

As a result, a 45-year-old man faced a bedside court hearing this afternoon after being charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

The man was refused bail and will reappear in Liverpool Local Court on 27 January 2010.
