A 23-year-old man and his 20-year-old wife have been arrested in connection with the murder of an Indian National Ranjodh Singh whose partially burnt body was found dumped on the side of a road near Griffith, in the State’s Riverina district, last December.
Detectives from Griffith LAC and the State Crime Command Homicide Squad arrested the couple at two addresses in Sans Souci shortly after 11am today.
Southern Region Commander, Assistant Commissioner Mark Murdoch, will address the media regarding the arrests and the latest developments concerning the investigation into the murder of Ranjodh Singh at Willbriggie, near Griffith on December 29 2009.
Police have ruled out the possibility of this crime being racially motivated however the macabre means of death suggest that a more sinister reason lurks behind the death of Ranjodh Singh.
