In addition to this list is that Victor’s mother Margaret grew up in 42 Middle Street Kingsford and 88 Alison Road Randwick. Mum knew ‘Last Race Cookie’ Jockey Billy Cook and the entire Cook Family.

Victor’s Grandmother’s sister lived with my Grandmother until my Grandmother died and the house was sold. My great Aunt moved to Woollahra and lived there for many years. Currently Aunty Yum lives in a home on New South Head Road and is aged over 100 years. Aunty Yum was born in December 1913.

Victor’s Grandfather Eugene Gabriel Sayegh was the first Solicitor of Lebanese decent to be admitted to the Bar in 1927. In 1946 in a famous Sydney divorce case Eugene Sayegh defeated William Dovey QC. William Dovey QC was the father of Margaret Whitlam.

At the rear of the house at 88 Alison Road was the Tram Corridor for services to Peter’s Corner, Randwick and Coogee.

Victor’s father grew up in Haberfield and later moved to Burwood.

The only tier of Government that has a residential rule is Local Government.  Many people have lived outside of their electorates. This includes Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore during her time as the State Member for Sydney. Others also include Former Liberal Prime Minister Sir William McMahon, State Ministers Reba Meagher and Phil Koperberg.

This is an observation only. Where these people lived did not stop them from being effective Politicians. Needless to say there are other examples now and in the future of politicians living outside of their electorate. As contained in the Sydney 2015 Election Page in Victor’s ISPUT website Victor has said that when he becomes the State Member for Sydney that he will live in the electorate.
