Yarra Trams will carry out the $3.9 Million worth of works from Sunday 10 November until Thursday 21 November, as part of the Andrews Government’s ongoing plan to improve Melbourne’s public transport.

Works will include digging up and laying of new tracks along St. Georges Road and Miller Street and replacing the overhead power lines, to improve services for the 12 Million passengers who catch the Route 11 every year.

“We’re getting on with these works now so we can deliver better services for passengers to get them where they need to go.” Minister for Public Transport Melissa Horne said.

“More than 12 Million passengers catch the Route 11 tram every year these works are vital to keeping one of our busiest tram routes on track.”

During the works, St. Georges Road between Oakover Road and Rennie Street and Miller Street between Davies Street and the junction, will be closed to through traffic in both directions between 2:00 am Sunday 10 November and 5:00 am Thursday 21 November.

To enable works to be carried out safely, parking will be temporarily removed on Miller Street between Davies Street and the junction until the competition of works.
