Police Charge Two Men Over Aggravated Robbery – Redfern

Police have arrested and charged two men over a robbery yesterday in inner Sydney.

The two men were allegedly forced at knifepoint into a car in Brougham Street, Woolloomooloo, and driven to nearby Darlinghurst.

It is alleged that the victim’s wallets and mobile phones were stolen as the thieves unsuccessfully tried to withdraw money from the men’s bank accounts at an Oxford Street ATM.

A short time later, the victims signalled a passing Police car for help.

The vehicle was stopped by Police from the Redfern Local Area Command and two men, aged 34 and 39, were arrested.

They were taken to the Redfern Police Station where they were charged by Kings Cross detectives with two counts of aggravated robbery in company.

Both were refused bail and ordered to appear today before Central Local Court.
