Treasurer Nicole Manison will deliver the third Budget of the Gunner Northern Territory Government tomorrow, that will Put Territorians First. It will do this by investing in:

  • Creating Local Jobs;
  • Delivering A Safer Territory;
  • Driving Generational Change.

“Budget 2019 will invest in creating local jobs, delivering a safer Territory and driving generational change.” Treasurer Nicole Manison said.

“You need to invest in all three areas to tackle the social challenges we face and economic opportunities in front of us.”

Treasurer Manison today confirmed Budget 2019 will see another major investment in job-creating infrastructure following significant spends in the last 2 budgets.

Government has already announced that tourism will again be turbocharged through a $62.8 Million investment to attract more visitors, stimulate the economy and create local jobs.

Turbo2 follows the success of Turbo1 that attracted more than 57,000 extra tourists.

Budget 2019 will also see another significant investment into children with a $1.28 Billion education budget, and investment in frontline services that will fund more Police than ever before.

Government will continue reforming the youth justice system to break the cycle of crime and put our youth on better paths. While early intervention and prevention is key, Budget 2019 will deliver consequences for youths who do the wrong thing by giving Police and courts better sentencing options.
