Toyota AFL Preliminary Finals Season 2018

Toyota AFL Preliminary Finals Season 2018

2 Preliminary Finals With Mirror Image Performances

Victor P Taffa

It was almost like a person or persons wanted 2 Preliminary Finals to play out in the way that they did.

Both Preliminary Finals were effectively over by half time. For football generally speaking this was not a good outcome.

Collingwood led reigning Premiers Richmond by 44 Points at Half Time while West Coast led Melbourne by 63 Points at Half Time with both matches effectively over.

To say that the margins of the 2 Preliminary Finals was unbelievable is an understatement. Both Richmond and Melbourne had solid seasons throughout 2018 with players from both clubs dominating the competition.

It would not be believable to say that the coaching staff at Richmond and Melbourne were suddenly so poor while the coaching staff at Collingwood and West Coast were suddenly so brilliant.

Something else was at play that was not good for football.

Certain person or persons did not want 2 Grand Final teams from the State of Victoria only. These people wanted to ensure that anyone from the State of Western Australia many thousands of kilometres away would have to fly to the match at the MCG.

These person or persons did not want a Richmond v Melbourne or a Richmond v Collingwood Grand Final next week.

Both Richmond and Melbourne will have to work hard over the next 12 months so real football fans get to see the 2019 Grand Final between Richmond and Melbourne.

VFL Competition began in 1897 and became the AFL Competition in 1990.
