Tourism Towards 2030 Conference will return to Darwin and Alice Springs in March, bringing local tourism operators together with the common goal of growing the Territory’s tourism industry.

As part of the Gunner Government’s Northern Territory’s Tourism Industry Strategy 2030, this year’s conference will provide opportunities to learn, network and come away with useful tips and real, actionable outcomes that can be used to grow businesses.

“Territory Government is investing in the tourism sector through the Turbocharging Tourism initiative to grow the sector and create more jobs for Territorians.” Acting Minister for Tourism Sport and Culture Eva Lawler said.

“A strong, competitive tourism industry adds billions of dollars to our economy and accounts for 1 in 8 jobs in the Northern Territory with 17,100 jobs supported.”

In 2020, the conference theme will be ‘Tourism Excellence’ with topics to cover future trends, tourism accessibility, managing social platforms and regional dispersal.

Conference will feature a keynote speech by Nigel Collin, renowned author of business bible, ‘The Game of Inches’ and global thought leader on leading change within organisations and businesses.

Other speakers include Review Pro, Google Australia, Tourism Australia and the Caravan Industry Association of Australia, while the Good Scout Travel Co. will give special insights into accessible tourism.

Last year’s inaugural event was attended by over 150 people in Darwin and 120 in Alice Springs, with guest speakers and panellists from regional, Territory and Australian tourism organisations.

Delivered in partnership with Tourism Top End and Tourism Central Australia through the Business Enterprise Program, the conference will be held in Darwin on 25 March and in Alice Springs on 27 March 2020.
