Part-Time Pat Abandons Elder Libs Call On Conlon To Resign Immediately
Victor P Taffa
Former Weatherill Government Minister Pat Conlon has abandoned South Australians in his electorate and should resign immediately.
It has been revealed Mr. Conlon, who was a Minister in the State Labor Government for 11 years and the current Member for Elder, will be working three days per week for an Adelaide law firm.
“Mr. Conlon should be working for his constituents in Elder, not for a law firm.” Deputy State Liberal Leader Vickie Chapman said.
“The people of Elder elected Pat Conlon to represent them for four years. If they had known he’d leave them high and dry, I’m sure they would’ve thought twice about electing him.”
“If Mr. Conlon wants to work as a lawyer he should resign immediately from office and force a by-election.” Ms. Chapman said.
“In the event Mr. Conlon will not resign voluntarily, Premier Weatherill must show true leadership by intervening and urge his factional ally to stand down.”
“This is an extremely concerning situation for South Australians who now have a part-time Treasurer and part-time Member for Elder.” Ms. Chapman said.
