Shadow Sport and Recreation Minister, Mark Shelton, has wished competitors preparing to take part in the Burnie 10 good luck for tomorrow’s event (Sunday 21 October).

Mr. Shelton, and Liberal Braddon MPs Jeremy Rockliff and Adam Brooks, will be among a record-breaking field of about 4,500 people taking part.

“The Burnie 10 has well and truly cemented its place on the national sporting calendar as Australia’s premier 10 km road race.” Mr. Shelton said.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for Tasmanians to enjoy physical activity in a friendly yet competitive environment, promoting health and well-being, which is to be encouraged and applauded.”

“I congratulate all the organisers, volunteers and sponsors who make this event possible and such a success, and wish all competitors well.” Mr. Shelton said.
