Teenager Assaulted, Robbed On Train – Central Coast

Police are appealing for public assistance following the suspected assault and robbery of a teenage male aboard a train between Woy Woy and Gosford on Sunday.

About 1.45 am yesterday (Sunday 3 January, 2010) a 19 year-old youth was on a Northbound train from Central to Narara.

While the train was between Woy Woy and Gosford it is believed that the teenager was assaulted by one or more people and his wallet taken.

A passenger located the youth unconscious in the train carriage and notified the train guard, who called for assistance.

The train was met at Gosford Railway Station by Transit officers and Ambulance personnel.

The teenager was taken to Gosford Hospital suffering a serious head injury. His condition is serious but stable.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been travelling on the train from Central to Narara early yesterday and who may have witnessed the alleged incident or seen any once acting suspiciously to contact Gosford Detectives on (02) 43235565 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

In particular, investigators would like to speak to two males who were seen leaving the train at Tascott Railway Station at the time of the incident.

Investigations into the incident are continuing and any information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence.
