Appeal For Witnesses To Hit-And-Run In Canley Vale
Police have appealed for witnesses following a hit-and-run in Sydney’s South-West last night.
About 8.30 pm (Tuesday 26 January) a 13-year-old was riding his pushbike along the eastern footpath of Sackville Street, Canley Vale, towards the intersection with Pevensey Street.
The boy’s father was following him on foot. The boy then crossed Pevensey Street as a vehicle turned right from Sackville Street and collided with the boy. The bicycle was dragged about 20 metres from the point of impact.
The boy was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead for treatment of a fractured skull. He currently remains in hospital in an induced coma.The driver of the vehicle did not stop.
