Appeal For Public Assistance Following Fatal Crash – Kembla Grange

Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman died in a single vehicle crash in the State’s Illawarra today.

About 2.10 pm a red Mini Minor was travelling West along Dapto Road, Kembla Grange, when it left the roadway and struck a power pole. The impact caused the vehicle to spin before coming to rest.

As a result the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Horsley woman, sustained serious head and internal injuries.

She was airlifted to St. George Hospital by Ambulance helicopter, where she later died.

Officers from the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and inquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who might have seen the crash or the Mini Minor travelling on Dapto road shortly after 2pm to contact Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit on 4256 4694 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The woman’s death brings the NSW Christmas/New Year holiday road toll to 22.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
