Hodgman Government continues to deliver on its commitments with an additional 19 Police officers graduating today, Minister for Police Fire and Emergency Management Michael Ferguson said.

“In our first term we rebuilt Tasmanian Police numbers and today’s 19 new officers are part of our pledge to recruit a further 125 new front-line officers over 4 years to make Tasmania a safer place in which to live.”

10 men and 9 women will now take up their posts at stations in:

  • Burnie,
  • Devonport,
  • Glenorchy,
  • Hobart,
  • Launceston.

“These new officers will put their training and practical experiences into action and begin serving and protecting the Tasmanian community from next week.” Minister Ferguson said.

“Recruiting is ongoing for the next scheduled courses and I would urge anyone who is considering a rewarding career in Policing to visit the Tasmanian Police website.”

“Hodgman Government proudly welcomes these new Constables to the ranks and wishes them all the best as they forge their own paths within the Tasmanian Police Service while protecting their communities.” Minister Ferguson said.
