Tasmania Shadow Minister for Health Jeremy Rockliff
Gov’t Wouldn’t Need To Beg Canberra For Money If It Had Its Priorities Right

Reports that the Federal Government is preparing to bail out the Tasmanian health system once again highlights just how warped the Green-Labor Government’s priorities are, Shadow Minister for Health Jeremy Rockliff said today.
“Labor and the Greens can find money for Ernesto Sirolli, a full fleet of Ministerial limos and an army of consultants. The Government can even find $110 Million to shut down Forestry Tasmania. Yet the Government can’t find money for our essential health services.”
“The Liberals’ Roadmap to Recovery and Growth outlines a clear plan to grow the economy, so that Tasmania can become more self-reliant and provide more money for frontline services like health.” Mr. Rockliff said.
“The Liberals’ Roadmap to Recovery and Growth also shows how we would restructure the public service and use the savings to pump an extra $76 Million into elective surgery. That’s the Liberals’ priority.”
“If Labor and the Greens had their priorities right they wouldn’t need to beg Canberra for money constantly.” Mr. Rockliff said.
