Man Charged With Attempted Murder Following Pedestrian – Toukley

Police have charged a man with the attempted murder of three people following a crash at Toukley last year.

It will be alleged about 2 am on Saturday 21 November, a white Holden Commodore, was driven West along Main Road as a group of males were walking along the road at the same time.

The Holden collided with three men before the driver fled the scene in the car.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene and two 19-year-olds and a 20-year-old man were taken by Ambulance to Gosford Hospital where they were treated for head and neck injuries.

The Holden was later found abandoned on Sparks Road at Warnervale.

Strike Force Intersection was established by detectives from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command to investigate the matter.

About 1:20 pm yesterday (Thursday 14 January), Strike Force detectives attended a unit of Nepean Hospital and arrested a 35-year-old Shalvey man.

He was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with:

  • Two counts of causing wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder,
  • Two counts of attempt murder
  • One count of making a false statement to obtain money.

The man was refused bail and is expected to appear at Penrith Local Court today.
