Second Man Arrested After Armed Robbery And Pursuit – Taren Point

A 39-year-old man is facing court today after an armed robbery at a club in Southern Sydney and pursuit earlier this month.

The man was arrested yesterday as a part of an ongoing investigation by St. George Detectives into the robbery of a Bowling club at Taren Point and subsequent pursuit of a stolen Volkswagen Golf and further pursuit of an allegedly car jacked Toyota Corolla on Sunday 10 January.

He was arrested in King Street Newtown by St. George Local Area Command Detectives yesterday.

The 39-year-old was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was subsequently charged with robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon in company and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

The Glebe man, who is the second person to be arrested in relation to the robbery and pursuit, was refused bail and will appear at Newtown Local Court later today.

Police are continuing their investigations to identify another man believed to have been involved in the matter and were last seen running from the intersection of Brodie Sparks Drive and the Princes Highway on Sunday 10 January.
