Ourimbah Pedestrian Crash

Police investigating an incident where a pregnant woman was hit by a mini bus on the Central Coast are appealing for the driver of a second car to come forward.

About 10.30 am on Christmas Day (Friday 25 December), the 29-year-old woman was walking along Coachwood Road at Ourimbah when she was struck by the mini bus.

The woman, who was 32 weeks pregnant, remains in Royal North Shore Hospital with leg and pelvis injuries. Her unborn baby died the day after the crash.

Police are examining all circumstances surrounding the crash, which includes talking to a number of witnesses.

They have told investigators an unidentified car narrowly avoided hitting the mini-bus in the moments before it ran off the road and hit the woman.

Police think it vital the driver of that car come forward and provide a description of what they saw.

Investigators expect to formally interview the 39-year-old female driver of the mini-bus in the near future.

Anyone who witnessed the crash and has yet to speak with investigators, including the driver of the unidentified car, should immediately contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
