Woman Killed In Single Vehicle Crash – Rylstone

The New South Wales holiday road toll has risen to 14 following the death of a woman in a single vehicle crash at Rylstone near Mudgee today.

About 12:30 pm, Police and Paramedics were called to Lue Road, approximately 40 km from Mudgee following reports of a crash.

Upon arrival Police found a Ford utility had collided with a tree.

The male driver was released from the vehicle before being taken to Rylstone Hospital for treatment to minor injuries and underwent mandatory blood and urine tests.

An 18-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Lue Road was partially closed for a number of hours while detectives from Mudgee Local Area Command and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit conducted examinations of the scene.

Investigations into the cause of crash are continuing and Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Local Police are also warning motorists visiting the area to slow down and drive to the conditions after poor weather conditions brought heavy rainfall, affecting driver visibility and increasing braking distances.
