Queenslanders are being urged to use Policelink 131 444 and avoid using Triple-000 unless it’s an emergency, the State Opposition said today
Shadow Minister for Police Glen Elmes reminded flood-affected Queenslanders of the new Policelink number, as the Triple-000 Service was operating at extreme levels.
“Our Police are doing a fantastic job responding to the needs of Queenslanders in this our Darkest Hour.” Mr. Elmes said.
“The Resources of our Police and Emergency Services are being used in their entirety, because of that I ask Queenslanders to please call 131 444 for all non-urgent matters.”
“Trained Police and staff are available to assist callers on the Policelink number for all non-life threatening situations.”
“Wilful property damage, stealing offences, break and enters, stolen vehicles and lost property are just some of the matters Policelink can assist with.” Mr. Elmes said.
According to the Queensland Police, Policelink 131 444 aligns with the national number for non-urgent Police assistance and is open 24/7.
