Police Appeal For Information After Assault – Albury
Albury Police are appealing for information after a fight near a local licensed premises left a man seriously injured.
About 1.30am today, a 23-year-old Lavington man was refused entry to licensed premises in Dean Street.
Soon after that refusal, the 23-year-old was involved in a fight with a number of other people nearby.
Police attended the scene and found the 23-year-old man lying on the roadway in Dean Street.
He was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics and taken to Albury Base Hospital.
It is understood he remains in a serious condition.
A crime scene was established and a section of Dean Street, between Olive and David streets, has been closed to allow forensic investigators an opportunity to make inquiries at the scene. It is expected this work will take a number of hours.
Albury Police are appealing for anyone who might have witnessed the fight or have information on the identities of those involved to contact them.
