Man Admitted To Hospital After Falling On Broken Bottle – Redfern
Police are investigating an apparent accident in which a man fell from a fence onto a broken bottle and suffered serious wounds to his stomach.
Around 4 pm today (Saturday 6 February), Ambulance Paramedics spotted the injured man walking towards a hotel in Henderson Road, Alexandria.
The Paramedics conveyed the 28-year-old to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for exploratory surgery.
Police from the Redfern Local Area Command attended the scene were initially in the belief the man had been stabbed.
Officers travelled to the hospital where the wounded man told them he was climbing a fence in Waterloo and fell, landing on a broken bottle.
Police have secured two crime scenes for further forensic examination.
