Sunshine families will get the world-class local school their kids deserve, with a re-elected Andrews Government to deliver a massive upgrade to Sunshine College.

“No matter where you live in Victoria, every student deserves to have a great school, a re-elected Andrews Government will make sure they do.” Minister for Education James Merlino said.

Re-elected Andrews Government will invest $12.75 Million for the next stage of their major upgrade which includes previously deferred works due to the significant amount of asbestos found during demolition.

This stage will include:

  • Performing Arts Centre, Gymnasium,
  • Year 7-8 Learning Building,
  • Carparks,
  • Further demolition works and other upgrades.

This builds on the $21.7 Million already provided by the Andrews Government to the school.

Every child should have a good local school and the chance to succeed in life, and only a re-elected Andrews Government will deliver that for kids in Sunshine.

Andrews Government has invested more than $3.8 Billion to build 70 new schools and upgrade 1,300 schools across the state since coming to office in 2014.

That means thousands of Victorian kids now go to school every day and learn in new classrooms with better technology and facilities, like new gyms and science labs.

It’s also helped create 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians right around our state.

A re-elected Andrews Government will keep delivering for Victorians with more new schools and upgrades to existing schools across the state.

“We promised the families of Sunshine College great facilities to support their learning, and that is what the Andrews Government will deliver.” Member for Footscray Marsha Thomson said.

Victoria State Election will be held on 24 November 2018.
