Newman Challenges O’Farrell To Origin Wager

Queensland Premier Campbell Newman has called on New South Wales Premier Barry O’Farrell to honour the traditional wager on State of Origin ahead of tomorrow night’s decider in Sydney.
With rugby league’s showcase series locked at one game all, Premier Newman said he’d like to see the Queensland flag flying over the Sydney Harbour Bridge once again.
“The mighty Maroons stormed back into this year’s series with a crushing win in Game Two and everyone knows they’re coming home with a wet sail.” Premier Newman said.
“Perhaps the sight of Greg Inglis tearing down the field scared Barry off a little bit.”
“With Johnathan Thurston finding his best form and Cameron Smith on fire, I can see why Barry might be a bit tentative.”
“Barry’s a great bloke but it looks like he may have lost faith in the Blues’ ability.”
“They even have the home ground advantage!” Premier Newman said.
“I was looking forward to seeing the Queensland flag flying over Sydney again, but we need the New South Wales Premier to step up to the plate.”
“Maybe after seven straight series wins they were thinking about keeping it up there instead.”
“Barry’s got my number if he changes his mind, it’s not too late!” Premier Newman said.
