South Australia Shadow Minister for Police Duncan McFetridge

Crime Out Of Control, Minister What Are You Going To Do?

Crime in South Australia is out of control. But what is Minister Rankine going to do about it?

The Weatherill Labor Government and Police Minister Rankine must guarantee South Australians that they will not make any budget cuts to the South Australian Police force as every Police resource is needed to end the spate of daily hold-ups, home invasions and shoot-outs, Shadow Minister for Police Dr. Duncan McFetridge said.

“There has been yet another bank hold-up in the past 24 hours, this time the Commonwealth Bank at Glenelg. Enough is enough.”

“SA Police need more frontline Police resources and not cuts to their budget. How are they to fight crime if they have their hands tied worrying about budgets and overtime costs?”

“In recent month’s restaurant patrons have had to dodge bullets, innocent elderly people have had homes invaded and bank customers have been traumatised by hold-ups when is it going to end?” Dr. McFetridge asked.

“We want Minister Rankine to assure Police she will allow them to get on with their job as efficiently as possible and not to slash any more Police funds.” Dr. McFetridge said.
