Police Extradite And Charge Man Over Violent Robbery Attempt – NSW North Coast
Police have extradited a man from Queensland to New South Wales over an attempted armed hold-up two years ago at Coffs Harbour on the State’s North Coast.
On 3 February 2008, Police allege a man armed with a knife attempted to rob a supermarket in Park Beach Road, threatening the 64-year-old female shop owner.
It is alleged she struggled with the would-be robber and he fled empty-handed.
Following a lengthy investigation, Coffs Harbour detectives travelled to Brisbane and yesterday successfully sought the extradition of a 33-year-old of no fixed address.
The man was taken to the Lismore Police Station today and charged with assault with intent to rob whilst armed.
Detectives also want to interview the man in relation to a break, enter and steal offence at a day spa business in Coffs Harbour in August, 2007.
The man was refused bail and ordered to appear before Lismore Local Court on Monday 8 February.
