Gun Crime Rampant As Police Cuts Hit Public Safety
Victor P Taffa
Shadow Minister for Police Elise Archer today said there’s no doubt that the Police Minister’s savage Police budget cuts are putting the public at risk.
“There simply aren’t enough Police on the beat and the thin blue line is stretched to breaking point. If Police resources are diverted to address the rising number of gun crimes, then public safety will be vulnerable somewhere else.”
“The Police Minister needs to stop making excuses and deal with the increasing gun crime problem. Only a majority Hodgman Liberal Government has a plan to rebuild frontline services, including the Police service.” Ms. Archer said.
