Police Association Votes Against Minister

Tasmania Shadow Minister for Police and Emergency Management Elise Archer

Police Have No Confidence In Minister O’Byrne

Police Minister David O’Byrne’s position is becoming untenable with the Minister no longer having the support of Police, according to Shadow Minister for Police and Emergency Management Elise Archer.

“For the Tasmanian Police Association Executive to ask members to vote on a motion of no-confidence in David O’Byrne is an extreme action that would not have been taken lightly.”

“By slashing frontline jobs and resources this Minister has caused untold damage to our Police Service and compromised public safety.” Ms. Archer said.

“The Liberals also have no confidence in Minister O’Byrne. He needs to stop gutting Police resources, or resign his commission.” Ms. Archer said.
