Police Appeal For Witnesses Following Fatal Pedestrian Collision – Albion Park

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal pedestrian collision at Albion Park, south of Wollongong, which has taken the State’s Christmas/New Year road toll to 13.

About 3.20pm, Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command and other emergency services were called to Tongarra Road, at the intersection of Terry Street, after a pedestrian was struck by a truck.

Upon arrival, they located the man suffering severe injuries.

Police performed Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); however, the 67-year-old Albion Park man could not be revived by Police or Paramedics and died at the scene.

The truck driver was taken to Shellharbour Hospital.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.

In particular, they would like to speak to a woman who was driving a white car, which is believed to have been travelling behind the truck, when the collision occurred.
