Failing Energy Networks? Here’s A Movie Ticket To Switch-Off

Today’s announcement by the Andrews Government demonstrates that once again Labor has passed-the-buck on energy and continues to blame everyone but itself for our failing energy networks, Shadow Minister for Energy and Resources David Southwick said.
In January this year, network failures led to over 90,000 Victorian households and businesses being left stranded without power during one of our summer’s worst heatwaves.
Instead of taking this opportunity to properly plan and build our networks to deal with Melbourne’s booming population (Premier) Daniel Andrews has opted to bribe Victorians to switch-off during heatwaves to avoid outages.
“Labor simply doesn’t understand that energy is an essential service and this government needs to do better than bribe Victorians to fix its problems for them.” Shadow Minister for Energy and Resources David Southwick said.
“Only the Liberal Nationals will take the ideology out of energy, support a balanced energy mix that delivers the lowest-cost and most reliable power for all Victorians.”
Energy is an essential service and the Government has a responsibility to ensure its supply, yet the best Daniel Andrews can offer is a free movie ticket if you turn your lights or air-con off for a few hours.
