Fatal Collision Near Gunnedah
Motorists are asked to avoid the Oxley Highway near Gunnedah in the State’s North-West following a fatal collision.
About 1.30 pm today (Monday 25 January 2010), a semi-trailer and a van collided on the Oxley Highway about five kilometres North-East of Gunnedah.
The van driver, a man believed to be aged in his 50’s, died at the scene.
An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the collision, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
A number of local traffic diversions are in place, and motorists are asked to avoid the area or delay travel until further notice.
Traffic is being diverted at the intersection of the Oxley and Kamilaroi Highways; Oxley Highway and Redbank Lane; and Oxley Highway and Henry Street.
