Northern Territory Shadow Treasurer John Elferink

Carbon Trading

Victor P Taffa

Today’s retail trade figures may be welcome news to businesses struggling to keep pace with increased costs like electricity, rents and wages, but the pain for consumers is still to come, according to Shadow Treasurer, John Elferink.

“The Labor Government’s Carbon Tax will mean higher prices on everything such as ice for the esky and this will hit ordinary Territorians in the hip pocket.” Mr. Elferink said.

“Territorians will soon be paying more, but getting less, thanks to Labor Party policy.”

“The Country Liberals will grow retail trade by growing the economy, not forcing existing residents to pay up more in tax.” Mr. Elferink said.
