  • Awards now in their 10th year

Nominations are now open for the 2013 WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards.

Health Minister Kim Hames said this year marked the 10th anniversary of the awards, which showcased exceptional nurses and midwives from public, private or Federally-funded health services.

“These awards have become a highlight of the health calendar and are a great opportunity to recognise and reward the health professionals making a positive difference to the lives of thousands of West Australians.” Dr. Hames said.

“Our nurses and midwives do a fantastic job, often in challenging circumstances.”

“These awards not only recognise our top nurses and midwives, they also help promote the range of career opportunities available in the nursing profession.”

The Minister said co-workers could nominate a nurse or midwife in 12 categories while the public could nominate staff for the Consumer Appreciation Award.

Nominations for the 2013 WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards close at noon on Monday, May 13.

Winners will be announced at a gala event at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday October 26, 2013.
