Tasmania Shadow Minister for Forestry Peter Gutwein
TCT Comments Confirm There Will Never Be Peace

Comments in the Examiner today by the Tasmanian Conservation Trust (TCT) confirm that the environmental movement will never, ever be satisfied, Shadow Minister for Forestry Peter Gutwein said.
“The truth is, even if the so-called peace deal ends the battle, it won’t end the war.”
“Mr. McGlone’s comments also highlight the folly of having a select group of big union, big environment, and big businesses deciding the future of our public native forests.” Mr. Gutwein said.
“A large number of environmental groups, including the Tasmanian Conservation Trust, Huon Valley Environment Centre, Still Wild Still Threatened, Markets for Change and even the Greens themselves are not party to the talks or any eventual deal.”
“A sure as night follows day, they will not be bound by whatever is agreed and will continue to sabotage and hold Tasmania’s forest industry to ransom until, as they have previously stated “every last chainsaw falls silent.” Mr. Gutwein said.
