About 9 am on Tuesday 5 January a verbal altercation occurred between a 42-year-old Hamlyn Terrace man driving a courier van and a man driving a maroon coloured Holden Statesman, as the two were travelling along Washington Avenue, near Narara Valley Drive, at Niagara Park.

Both vehicles stopped in the middle of the road and both drivers got out of their cars as the verbal altercation occurred.

It is alleged that the driver of the Holden Statesman returned to his car and obtained a knife before approaching the van, leaned through the driver’s window and stabbed the Hamlyn Terrace man a number of times before fleeing the scene.
