A former industrial site near the Fremantle city centre will be transformed into a high quality, cutting-edge residential precinct through a partnering agreement between the State’s land development agency, LandCorp and one of three short-listed proponents.
Lands Minister Brendon Grylls today announced the shortlist of three preferred development partners for the strategic Knutsford urban renewal project.
Mr Grylls said those short-listed were selected from a very competitive field of some of the nation’s foremost designers, in partnership with some of Australia’s premier developers.
- Knutsford Consortium (Georgiou Group / Fini Group / Mainpart Holdings)
- Match Group
The Minister said the project would feature a mix of densities, housing types and styles to enhance the already distinct character of the surrounding residential area.
“We’re looking at making this site an integral part of the Fremantle community.” Mr. Grylls said.
“Potential partners sharing our vision of creating something that is truly exceptional and innovative in design were identified and will make a genuine contribution to the long-term attractiveness and amenity of the community.”
“The State Government is looking at the Knutsford urban renewal project to showcase innovation and best practise in the land development industry. The short-listed proponents all shared this philosophy.” Mr. Grylls said.
A decision on the preferred development partner is anticipated by July, with the development of the first stage to start later in the year.
