Nationals preselect Dr David Gillespie for Lyne
Christine Ferguson, State Chairman of The Nationals – NSW, today announced that Dr. David Gillespie has been selected as the party’s representative to contest the seat of Lyne at the next Federal Election.
“David Gillespie is an outstanding community fighter.” Mrs. Ferguson said.
“As a very well-respected specialist, David has been at the coal face serving the community for many years.
David is passionate about the development of regional medical services and has been the Director of Physician Training at Port Macquarie Base Hospital since 2001.
“Dr. Gillespie will take the fight up to the Rudd Government and show that the people of Port Macquarie, Taree, the Camden Haven, Harrington and Gloucester have been badly let down in the area of health.
“The Federal Government, State Government and local independent MP’s have been all talk but no action on the health system of the North Coast.” Mrs. Ferguson said.
The preselection was conducted yesterday at the Laurieton United Services Club.
With over a hundred people in attendance, Dr. Gillespie was selected from a very high quality field which included local small businessman and former Councillor Jamie Harrison and Taree solicitor Quentin Schneider.
