The Rockingham Kwinana Development Office (RKDO) is officially open for business at its new centrally-located premises in Rockingham’s Civic Boulevard.

Formally opening the new office, Planning Minister John Day said it would enhance the office’s effectiveness in the Rockingham-Kwinana community.

“The RKDO’s new strategic location, close to the City of Rockingham’s administration centre will vastly increase its visibility and access for key stakeholders.” Mr. Day said.

“The RKDO is working closely with the city and the Town of Kwinana to make sure this important region has the essential infrastructure for a growing community.”

“The list of current projects is testament to the RKDO’s role to bring together various agencies and groups to deliver major projects.” Mr. Day said.

“This includes the revitalisation of the Kwinana and Rockingham Activity Centres; the new Mundijong Road connection between the Kwinana Freeway and Mandurah Road; and an array of other vitally important community projects.”

The Minister said the RKDO’s partnership model was helping to provide the Rockingham Kwinana communities with the full range of facilities and services expected in a major growth corridor.

“The State Government’s planning framework, Directions 2031 and beyond, positions Rockingham as a Strategic Metropolitan Centre, providing a Diverse Range of Housing, Services, Facilities and Activities to Support the Local Community.” Mr. Day said.
