Steven Marshall will lead the State Liberals to the next election in March 2014.

Mr. Marshall was elected unanimously by his colleagues on Monday morning and will lead the State Liberal team with Deputy Vickie Chapman.

“It is a great honour and privilege to be chosen to lead the State Liberal team.” State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall said.

“The State Liberals will provide a fresh approach and my team is energised, focused and very excited about the next 13 months.”

“I welcome Vickie Chapman to the position of Deputy. We are both committed to working every single day to ensure we deliver a Liberal Government in 2014.”

In a clear display of Party unity, Mr. Marshall’s appointment is the first time a Liberal leader has been elected unanimously in almost 40 years.

“I guarantee that from today onwards I will lead a team with fresh ideas and a fresh approach.” Mr. Marshall said.

“All South Australians deserve a much better government in this state. This tired Weatherill Labor Government has delivered the biggest ever debt and deficit in our state’s history.”

Mr Marshall will announce his Shadow Cabinet on Friday.

“The Shadow Cabinet will be innovative, merit-based and if I was Premier Weatherill, I would be worried.” Mr. Marshall said.
