A teenager will appear at children’s court today after Police detected him driving an alleged stolen car at Harbord yesterday.

About 4.30pm detectives attached to the Northern Beaches Local Area Command were patrolling in the Brookvale industrial area.

Police followed two people in a Daihatsu sedan – which had been reported stolen – for several minutes and with the assistance of other officers stopped the vehicle in Wyadra Road at Harbord a short time later.

The officers arrested two occupants aged 17 and 26 and took them to Dee Why Police Station regarding the alleged theft of the vehicle from a service station at Mona Vale last week.

A 26-year-old Manly man was later released pending further inquiries while a 17-year-old Manly Vale boy was charged with several offences.

The alleged was refused bail and will face charges of take/drive conveyance, drive conveyance without consent of the owner, and drive unlicensed.

The alleged will appear at Bidura Children’s Court later today.
