Police Appeal For Assistance After Serious Crash – Surry Hills
Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash in Surry Hills yesterday.
About 4.45 pm, a Daihatsu Charade travelling in a Southerly direction on South Dowling Street collided with a taxi travelling West on Moore Park Road. It appears as though one of the vehicles ran a red light.
As a result of the crash, the 33-year-old male taxi driver was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital suffering minor injuries. The 21-year-old male driving the Charade escaped uninjured.
However the 19-year-old male who was in the front passenger seat was trapped in the car for about an hour before being released by emergency services personnel.
He was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital suffering serious leg injuries for which he will require surgery.
