Holroyd Local Area Command
Police from the Holroyd Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances that led to a man suffering a gunshot wound to his lower leg yesterday.
Sometime between 3pm and 5pm a 33-year-old man was driving his 2000 model white Toyota Corolla on Fullagar Road in Holroyd when he became involved in an incident with another vehicle.
Both drivers stopped and before the victim could approach the other vehicle, a number of shots were fired at him.
One of the bullets lodged in his lower leg.
The other driver fled the scene.
The victim managed to drive himself to a friend’s home, who then took him to hospital.
He was admitted to Westmead Hospital where he will undergo surgery to his leg.
He remains in a stable condition.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard the incident yesterday, or who may have been in the area of Fullagar Road, to contact Holroyd Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
